A century of stories anchored in a new studio logo

The Walt Disney Company marks its 100th anniversary on October 16, 2023, anchoring a year-long centenary celebration in a new visual identity and an updated animated studio logo. The new production sequence, developed by Disney Studios Content with Industrial Light and Magic, replaces the long-standing castle intro with a sunrise-lit, computer-animated rendition of Walt Disney Animation's signature Cinderella Castle, accompanied by a refreshed orchestration of "When You Wish Upon a Star".

The new logo first appears at the 2022 D23 Expo in Anaheim, where the company also presents the "100 Years of Wonder" wordmark that serves as the centennial tagline. The identity is rolled out across theatrical releases, Disney+ programming, theme park communications, and consumer products throughout 2023, and is followed at Disneyland by "Wondrous Journeys", a projection-mapping and fireworks show featuring footage from all 61 Walt Disney Animation Studios feature films released to date.

The centennial program coincides with several heritage projects, including the animated short "Once Upon a Studio", which gathers more than 500 Disney animated characters in a single film. Together, the work positions Disney's 100th year as a deliberate restatement of its identity through animation, music, and the studio brand mark itself, rather than around a single anniversary product.
